The function of our community-based initiatives is to help meet the needs of our community by securing resources donated by the community, other agencies, and businesses around the area.
Operation Overcoat kicks off in October by asking local residents and businesses to donate new or gently used winter clothing for local residents in need. Coats, snow pants, vests, hats, and other winter clothing items in a variety of sizes are brought to our partner, Northwest Savings Bank and the EOC downtown office during designated times.
All coats received are cleaned by Anderson Cleaners and are brought back to the EOC, where they are made available to anyone in need of winter clothing.
There are no eligibility requirements for this program.
Partners/funding sources for Operation Overcoat Program have included Atlantic Broadcast, Northwest Savings Bank, Warren Times Observer, Anderson Cleaners, and WNAE/WRRN.
